POZZOLAN
Used as a percentage of cement replacement (10% to 40%). Super-charges concrete performance: reduces heat of hydration cracking, mitigates alkali silica reaction, innoculates against chemical attack, densifies and improves strength overall.

Standard pozzolan used in general construction concrete mix designs as well as downhole slurries. (90% to 100% passes a 325 mesh. 25 micron APS) |

HESS ULTRAPOZZ (NCS-3) |
An ultrafine (average particle size of 3 microns) pumice pozzolan for speciality concretes. Typically used for glass fiber reinforced concrete (GFRC) panels and products, crafted stone veneer products, statuary. |

TIGHT GRADES (DRIED)
The following pumice sand and small aggregate grades are dried and screened into a narrow particle-size range.
PUMICE SAND (#2) |
Fine-grained pumice sand. (3% to 15% passes through a 50 mesh) |

Medium-grained pumice sand. (0 to 12% passes through a 30 mesh) |

TIGHT GRADE (MINE)
Grade 3/8 x #8 MN has the fines below #8 size screened out, but is not dried; contains some moisture-adhered fines. Mine grade.
PUMICE AGGREGATE (3/8" x #8 MN) |
Grade has a top end of 3/8-inch stones (passing 3/8 mesh) and a bottom end (0 to 20%) passing an 8 mesh. Primarily 3/8 to 1/8-inch stones. Some moisture-adhered fines. |

WIDE GRADES
The lightweight aggregate grades below are classifed as mine grades. These fine aggregrate grades are top-screened only and contain extensive fines.
PUMICE AGGREGATE (1/8" + FINES MN) |
Wide-spectrum mine grade with a top end of 1/8-inch stones (8 mesh) and bottom end fines passing (0 to 15%) a 200 mesh. Extensive fines/sand. |
